Liz

Here's Liz, thinking about coming outside to see what's going on.

Liquid silver emulsion on 15x15 Rives BFK watercolor paper. I'll mat  this to 16 inches square and put it into a black gallery style frame.

A note about the process:

Liquid silver emulsion is concocted from gelatin, silver nitrate, and a couple of other chemicals. It is warmed to the consistency of heavy cream, and then painted onto watercolor paper under a safelight. Once the paper is dry, it can be enlarged onto, just like a commercially made silver gelatin paper. Textures, brush marks, & flaws in the coating are the hallmarks of this beautiful process.
