Daily Prints
Daily may be a bit ambitous, but I'm going to try. Each day I'll post a new print for sale. It will be smaller than the prints I make for exhibitions and regular sales, and labeled "daily print" with the date and my signature on the back. There will be only one. Some of these will be older work prints, some prints that I am making right now, but all will be traditional darkroom prints, processed to archival standards, and in no way inferior to my other prints. At the end of each week, I will stop selling them here, and list all the unsold prints on another website. They'll cost more there, and there's only one of each, so don't be slow if you like something!
Why am I doing this? First, I want to stay motivated and make sure that I am in the darkroom every day or two. Shooting film comes relatively easy for me, and it's easy to think that once a negative is developed and scanned and seen by a few people on the web, that the work is complete. Well, it's not!
Secondly, I need to support myself, and may as well do it with what I love doing most. I truly believe that in this day and age, with so many forms of imaging so easily reproduced, that original, handmade photographic prints need to be kept alive -- and I am committed to that process. So, in exchange for asking folks to help by spreading the word or by buying prints that they like, I 'd like to make some prints priced reasonably enough so that anyone can afford to purchase and enjoy them.
And, as of the first week in March, I'm also going to include some weekly offerings here. Either small groupings of prints, or larger sized prints. To see them you can click on the Weekly offerings link in the sidebar.
Let's see how it goes!
